A WORD FROM VESNA

I am grateful as I reflect on my journey as an Orthodox vestment maker—a path that has been illuminated by faith, passion, and guidance from God.

From my earliest memories, I have been captivated by the art of design and the beauty of fabrics and textures. My mother, with her sewing projects, unknowingly nurtured my love for working with my hands.

The ability to transform a concept into a tangible reality fills me with a sense of purpose and joy like nothing else.

The fashioning of liturgical vestments is a sacred calling that I am humbled to pursue, knowing that it is not only a profession but also a divine assignment.

The saying that the Mother of God chooses those who make vestments resonates deeply with my own experience: I feel guided by her prayers in this holy work.

My journey into the work of vestment making was sparked by a visit to the Monastery of the Mother of God in New Carlisle, Indiana and an introduction to the true beauty, meaning, and purpose of church vestments by The Abbess Mother Epraxia. From that moment, my heart was captured.

For over 20 years, I have been privileged to walk this sacred path, crafting sacred garments of exceptional beauty for a holy purpose.

Thanks to all of you who blessed me with your trust. It is a privilege and honor to share this work with you.

With gratitude,

Vesna Lucic
